Jhirna forest rest house - In details
Jhirna forest rest house is one of the popular stay option amongst the naturalist and wildlife enthusiast inside the Corbett Tiger reserve. For instance, Jhirna has gained so much of popularity over past few years due to high probability of animals sighting in this zone.
This FRH is around 20 KMs from the Ramnagar town and it takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour to reach here. Jhirna zone Corbett national park remains open for tourists throughout the year for day safaris, however, no safari is permitted on rainy days. But, night stay is only available from November to June.
Accommodation option at Jhirna forest rest house
Here night stay booking in Jhirna FRH is available from 15th November to 14th June every year for tourists. There are total 2 rooms at Jhirna FRH and extra bed facility is also available on request.
Forest department has covered the complete area by fence and a large ground is a part of the campus from where animals movement can be witnessed throughout the day.
Kitchen facility is available and cost for meals is pocket friendly. Hot water facility is available and electricity is provided in the evening as it depends on the solar power.
Safari starts half an hour before here than the guests who are staying at private resort. Therefore, it gives people staying at Jhirna more chance of spotting the wildlife.
Note– TV Facility is not available inside the rest house. Similarly, phone networks might not work properly inside the campus area.
One should always carry an extra battery or power bank to recharge camera & phone batteries. Electricity will be available inside the campus from Sunset to morning.
Day wise program
Day 1- The Jeep driver will pick you up from Ramanagar or any resort on Dhikuli area and drive you inside the jungle to reach Jhirna Forest rest house. At the gate your I’d proof will be checked and after reaching the FRH, they will provide you with your room. Enjoy lunch at restaurant and at 1:30 PM get ready for Jungle safari which will last for 3 hours. Post safari get back to your rooms and enjoy evening at leisure. Dinner and night stay.
Day 2. Get up at 6:00 AM for Jungle safari and enjoy the jungle during Sunrise and post completion get back to rooms, get fresh and after breakfast check out. Our driver will drop you at Ramnagar or any hotel in Dhikuli area.

Day 3. Get up at 6:00 AM for Jungle safari and enjoy the jungle during Sunrise and post completion get back to rooms, get fresh and after breakfast check out. Our driver will drop you at Ramnagar or any hotel in Dhikuli area.

Note- Food cost is not included. However, Per day per person is approximately INR 1100 for breakfast, lunch & dinner combined.
You can stay maximum of 3 nights here. Similarly, same rule is applicable for other forest lodges inside the Jim Corbett national park. Once you make a night stay booking, you do not have to opt for additional safari permit. In other words, safari permit is a part of the night accommodation but gypsy will be additionally required to enter the forest area.
